Spokane Women's Hockey (SWH) is a non-profit organization with the purpose of providing opportunities for women, ranging in age from 18 to mid-60s, to enjoy the sport of ice hockey. SWH sponsors the following:
- Women's Recreational Hockey League (WRHL)
Open to all women in the Spokane/Inland Northwest area who play hockey at levels from beginner to advanced. We have four teams with two games (normally) being played on Friday nights from September-April. For some games, the teams are mixed so that each team is balanced with all levels of players (color teams). For other games, the teams are set by rated ability level (lowers/uppers).
- Travel Teams
SWH sponsors three travel teams at Novice, Intermediate, and Competitive levels. (River Rats, Harley's Angels, and Stars)
- Tournaments
We are involved in several tournaments including two home tournaments (Hoctoberfest in October for advanced teams, Spirit of America in January for intermediate and novice teams) and several out-of-town tournaments at all levels.
- 5-on-5 SESSIONS
These games consist of 10 players per team. Three 20-minute periods are played with lines switching at 2 minute intervals.
- Meetings- General Membership
Meetings are held (generally) on the second Tuesday of the month in the Conference Room above Rink 2
